Another Reason Why I Hire Overseas

While this may not have a direct impact on whether my business succeeds or not, I count myself extremely blessed to have made a business decision that has had a tremendous impact on the workers that work for me.

This year the Philippines have had a major typhoon.  While these typhoons may not be as powerful as the hurricanes that we have in the states, they still cause a great deal of havoc.  I had recently hired a new virtual assistant, but she has been unable to do any work for me at all because of the storm.  However, I sent her $30 – which was the wage for the amount of days she had been working for me – and she sent me the below message on Skype:

Can you believe that?  With that small amount of money you can make such a huge difference in the lives of your virtual assistants.  Not only that, you have someone that is there to take your business to the next level.

I don't know… I just think that it's amazing what we are able to do today and how we can bless others through owning a business.

My son lives in the Philippines with his wife (a wonderful Filipina) & 2 children. It’s amazing how inexpensive it is to live there. They have 2 “Yayas” … full time nannies (they sleep there – usually on the floor)… they’re paid about $10/week. They also have a lady that does all their laundry by hand – & irons everything for about $4 a week for 2 adults & 2 kids.

We were there in 2007 for their wedding – among other wonderful memories was a full body 90 minute massage for $12. Can’t beat that!

So, yes, $30 a week will get them plenty of necessities.

Oh, man! That is amazing lol.

Wow… $10 a week. Yeah, I can’t believe the difference in economic arbitrage there. The great thing is that the what you pay them not only affects them directly, but usually their extended family as well. It’s great knowing that you are making a huge difference in their lives.

      Thanks for the comment =).
